Fiber Trek is about relationships. It’s about the network we find ourselves in when we chose to take up the needles, the spindle, and the fleece . It is about beauty…good ol’ fashion eye candy…looking out on landscape, color, texture, and creativity. There will be threads of ecology, biology and natural history. I feel the pull of cultural history, stories and the process…the process of death and birth, sickness and health, for better or worse. It's a pretty elemental force which will drive this project. I trust the that following sheep will leads us to new ways of thinking, redefine our craft and inspire us to go anywhere we please with our wool and sticks.
Content will include: farm visits, interviews with designers, community members, and producers, landscape exploration with historians/naturalists, yarn/fiber products, techniques as they relate to place, and travel themes such as food, and accommodation.
We hope to enrich the fiber world with stories, hope and beauty. Join us as we tour the best the world fiber community has to offer from the Falklands to Norway. Fiber Trek takes you out of the rocking chair and on to the trail with exciting travel, foods, farms and fiber!
